- Maywood became the home of the 33rd Tank Company, Illinois National Guard. The Armory was located on Madison Street, two blocks east of First Avenue. It was organized on 3 May 1929 with the purpose of training men for combat. On 25 November 1940, 122 men of the 33rd Tank Company were inducted into active service to become Company B of the famous 192nd Tank Battalion which fought on the Philippine islands. They were destined to become victims of the Bataan Death March in April 1942. Of the 122 men of Company B, only 41 returned to Maywood alive. Their sacrifice has been honored with a Bataan Day Parade. Also, Dennis Franz, NYPD Blue grew up here.

-Motorola started in Chicago, Illinois as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation (at 847 West Harrison Street)[9] in 1928, with its first product being a battery eliminator. Paul Galvin purchased the patents to the automotive radio and acquired the rights to the trade name Motorola ("motor" and "Victrola") from William Lear. The name Motorola was adopted in 1930, and the word has been used as a trademark since the 1930s.

Manhattan Beach is a city located in southwestern Los Angeles County, California,
George H. Peck owned a lot of the land that became part of the north section of Manhattan Beach. Supposedly, a coin flip decided the town's name. Around 1902, the beach suburb was named "Manhattan" after the developer's home town, Manhattan Beach, New York.
Manhattan Beach is the home of both beach and indoor volleyball, and surfing; during the winter, the waves can get as big as 12 feet.

This bedroom community lies in the Chicago metropolitan area, about 30 miles southeast of the Chicago Loop. During the Cold War, Munster served as the site of the Nike-Zeus Missile defense base C-46. The site was closed in 1971. The earliest known inhabitants of the area were the Potawatomi. Although a village did not exist in what was to become Munster's town boundaries, a trail along the dry sandy ridge now known as Ridge Road was well traveled by the tribe.
